Talana Hill Chardonnay is fermented and matured in barrels from Troncais and Allier Oak. This is a sophisticated and stylish Chardonnay with a delicious full, rounded style. The Chardonnay spends a total of 8 - 10 months in barrels bought from particular coopers in France, which contributes to the wine’s fine complexity and roundness.

TASTING NOTES
Intense and weighty with distinctive nose, Talana Hill Chardonnay has rich tropical fruit tones with a firm aftertaste. Firm and tightly focused, Talana Hill Chardonnay goes extraordinarily well with food, especially Thai and other spicy dishes.

Talana Hill Royale is an earthy, full flavoured and spicy blend, predominantly Merlot with about 20% Cabernet Franc (the amount varies from vintage
to vintage). Rich ruby-red in colour, this unique wine displays characteristics that are typical of the Talana Hill single vineyard.

TASTING NOTES
Succulent brambleberry fruit and ripe tannins are complemented by careful oak maturation. Jan recommends laying down this wine for a few years as the complex flavours evolve gracefully with age. Talana Hill Royale goes well with steak and fillets, roasts and cheeses.

.

Deep red hues with purple notes. Complex aromatics, Bordeaux-like in their variety. Initially cigar-box, herbs and smoke followed by ripe cherries, cassis and black currants. This is a complex wine with black stone fruit flavours dominating the core, enveloped by terrior-driven flint and earth aromas. The tannin is that of a French wine, it has mid palate texture and super length and will age well for the next decade.

Ideal with hearty meals likes stews and winter comfort food.

A single vineyard wine, from bush vines and the same site as the Talana Hill Royale. This wine has always been a slow starter, taking about 2 years to come into its own and present its full spectrum of flavours.

Bunches are pressed whole and the juice is left for about 12 to 24 hour for it to settle. With start of fermentation, the wine is transferred to second fill barrels where it matures for 8-10 months. No new wood treatment is used on the wine.

The wine reveals plenty of intense and rich aromas of toast, smoke, grapefruit and pineapple. The palate is layered with flavours of nutty, limes, butter and vanilla all well supported by the sensible oaking. There is an elegance, richness balance and complexity of fruit that lingers on the after taste. This wine is ideal with creamy pastas, lime and olive oil catch of the day or a mildly spiced Tom Yum soup.
